Happiness is…pulling up at your ATM at 5 PM on a workday and not having to wait in line…at all.
Greater happiness is…realizing the balance at the ATM machine is more than you first thought, enough in fact that you take out an extra $20 without any guilt.
I love living around people who don’t do a double take or flinch when they hear the uniquely Southern phrase “fixing to”.
I have no singing voice but if I did I think I would like to be one of the Pips singing background vocals to Gladys Knight’s “Midnight Train to Georgia.”
Is it time we change the phrase “April showers bring May flowers” to include something about all this pollen that also comes around this time of year?
Why is it that when I sometimes hear the phrase “put yourself in his shoes” I find myself hoping that the person in question isn’t wearing bowling shoes?
How come I can only grow weeds in my yard yet in the cracks of the concrete driveway I can grow nothing but grass?
People who pace the floor make me as nervous as an old cranky rattlesnake on a caffeine binge.
Watching people laugh is good feeling. Making people laugh is an even better feeling.
It’s disheartening that political discussion today, on any side of almost any issue, pretty much boils down to the level of a bunch of six year olds calling each other names. It’s a shame that so many we elect engage in this as well. It’s a crying shame that we don’t expect better of ourselves and those we elect.
Some days it really is hard to beat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
This time of year features a small window of time when you can let a peaceful feeling come over you by simply listening to the rain softly falling outside through an open window which lets gentle breezes blow past the curtains while the whole moment lulls you into the feeling that all you should do is close your eyes and take a nap.

Tim, I'm on my lunch break. I think I'm fixin' to take a short nap.
